THOMAS SMITH LANDS 7.93 LB. GIANT TO WIN 2019 SPRING BASH AT LAKE OZARKS
Posted by editor on May 1, 2019
What a weekend at the 2019 Spring Big Bass Bash at Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks. Weatherwise, anglers were greeted with just about every factor possible throughout the weekend...rain, sun, cold temps, high winds...etc. A typical spring weekend in Missouri.
The fishing, or should we say, catching, was great throughout the weekend. Lot's of big weights were weighed in on Saturday, with the top 4 overall all weighed in on that day. The lake is as healthy as it has ever been. It took nearly a 5 lb. bass just to break into the check line on Saturday, very impressive. Sunday was a different story, with a severe cold front that passed through the evening before, many anglers reported a much tougher bite, with just one fish weighed in all day over 6 lbs.
Midwest Fish Tournaments paid out over $265,000 in cash for this event, which included overall payouts, bi-hourly time slots, ladies bonus, exact weights, and early bird prizes. We want to thank all of you that participated in this event. The Lake of the Ozarks Big Bass Bash has grown to become one of the premier bass tournaments in the country. This is all due in part to the angler support, all of our great sponsors, the community interaction and the support of the Tri County Lodging Association at Lake of the Ozarks. Thank you all !
